NET's Tenor Gateways Enable Customers to Achieve the Benefits of Skype Connect Through Interoperability With Legacy Equipment

Network Equipment Technologies, Inc. ("NET") (NASDAQ: NWK) announced today that its Tenor DX gateway was certified for interoperability with Skype Connect™, a business solution that can help companies lower their monthly communications costs. As a result, business customers can benefit from the cost-saving features of Skype Connect through interoperability with their legacy TDM or IP-PBX equipment, with little or no additional upgrades required.

This will enable small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) using legacy TDM and IP-PBX equipment to make calls to landlines and mobile phones around the world billed at Skype's low per-minute business calling rates. Companies can also choose to purchase Skype Online Numbers, enabling them to receive calls via Skype from business contacts and customers calling from traditional fixed lines or mobile phones.

With NET's Tenor DX gateway and Skype Connect, customers can connect with companies simply by clicking a Skype button on their business Web site. Through Skype's Click & Call functionality, any business can place Skype buttons on their website and receive calls from any of the millions of connected Skype users around the world through Skype. As inbound calls from customers are received, NET's gateway provides the internal routing to the TDM or IP-PBX endpoint.

Qualification testing of NET's Tenor DX product with Skype Connect was performed by tekVizion Labs, an interoperability certification lab (www.tekVizionLabs.com).

"With the challenges facing businesses today, executives of small and medium-sized companies realize that effective communication with customers is a key to helping them succeed. We are pleased to receive this certification, as it opens the market for customers to get the benefits of Skype without replacing their existing PBX equipment," said Kevin Isacks, CTO of NET. "NET's qualification for Skype Connect interoperability further demonstrates our commitment to developing solutions that reduce infrastructure costs and increase productivity for the global business community."
